Event Parking Information

The City of Newcastle plays host to many large events and festivals that not only showcases our beautiful city but also enriches the Novocastrian lifestyle. Events whether they be sporting, cultural or musical often attract a large number of people, most of whom will drive and/or walk.

Our parking operations team is committed to providing safe roads and environs for all road users around event sites.

Parking Officers regularly patrol these areas including sporting venues, particularly those that are adjacent a residential precinct. Residents adjacent these venues demand our assistance in these circumstances particularly when careless drivers park in a manner that impacts on safety and access to property.

We consider that vehicles parked on/across footways, within intersections and across property accesses as a serious breach of the Road Rules and contrary to our commitment to the community.

It is the role of the Parking Officer to ensure that our commitment to safety and the environment is preserved.

During events you are encouraged to use public transport or arrive early to find a safe and legal parking space. Before attending large events, check the event website for public transport and parking options.
